Culture & life at the Alliance

A packed cultural agenda all year, a rich library, and a cafeteria that feels like home.

Cultural activities

At the Alliance Française, culture is the heartbeat of the place. We organise workshops and activities that strengthen the shared values of the French and Palestinian peoples, in an atmosphere of warmth and fun.

  • Current programmes: literary talks, music and film screenings, the "language café", art exhibitions, hiking and sports trips, and cooking workshops
  • Coming ambitions: theatre, circus, robotics, or dabkeh and folk dance classes — driven by your interests
  • Where we meet: at our centre or across the city, with schools, universities and partner centres

Your gateway to 2,000 sources of knowledge

The library

A treasure of more than 2,000 French-language books and documents — your companion for learning and enjoyment.

  • Opening hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 – 16:00
  • On-site reading is free for all visitors
  • Borrowing with an annual membership card (60 ILS)
  • Loan period: 3 weeks for general books, 3 days for specialised learning books

The cafeteria

At the end of 2024 we opened a corner combining quiet reading with lively social gatherings — a comfortable self-service space that feels like home.

  • Your mini-kitchen: coffee machine, tea, and reheating your own meal
  • A place to meet, chat and read quietly
  • The outdoor courtyard: ping-pong and table football with friends
  • Regular social events — your ideas are always welcome
  • Monday – Friday 10:00 – 16:00, and evenings for groups by prior booking
